Tennis Pro Randy Shaw has been teaching the sport since 1992. He has worked with both newcomers and advanced players of all levels, from the ages of 5 to 75, including celebrities and nationally ranked players. He is the instructor-on-call for both the Ritz Carlton St. Thomas and Sugar Bay Resort and Spa.
Specializing in preparation and footwork, Shaw works to refine fundamentals while adding quick responsiveness and a delicate touch to your game. With a career in youth education, he knows that organization and energy are what keep a tennis lesson exciting. The key to learning tennis is falling in love with the sport - Mr. Shaw is engaging, and keeps you focused on each shot. By the end of your lesson, you'll be hooked, dreaming of aces long after you've left the court.
With a quick first step, Shaw keeps at the top of his game, so no matter if clients are looking for a workout, a tune up, or taking their first swings of the racket, Shaw is prepared to help them learn, grow, and improve.
About Me
Having grown up in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, I would never have imagined that the Caribbean island of St. Thomas would become my home. After graduating from college near Boston, I took the plunge, moving to the Virgin Islands to pursue my teaching career. I realized right away that having perfect weather all year round made sport and exercise the best forms of entertainment. While pursuing my passion for tennis through competition, I found instruction to be joyful and rewarding. When not teaching tennis, you can find me out boating between the islands, enjoying an adventurous hike or a relaxing swim.
